Friday, October 28:


Lunch:  Turkey & cheese wrap/Lettuce salad or Chicken tender lettuce salad, mandarin oranges, animal crackers, ½ pint of milk


Youth & Government Meeting – Last 15 minutes of both lunch shifts


Cast and crew -- we will be setting up chairs after school in the fine arts center at 3:30.


Red Ribbon Week - "Imagine a Day Where No one Dies from Drugs. Black Out Drugs." - Wear Black


Boys Basketball – Turn in IHSA forms, concussion forms, and player contracts by the end of the day.


7:00 PM - Varsity Football – Playoffs – WHS vs. Gillespie –(H) – Admission $5 per person set by the IHSA - No passes accepted


FB Concessions - G Newton, Redpath, Lockhart, McGraw,. Please be there at 5:30. We are looking for more volunteers if anyone would like to help.

Cross Country Sectional at Elmwood – Van time is 7:45 AM


Back to the 80’s – WHS musical at the District Fine Arts Center – 7:00 PM – High School Activity Passes are accepted

General Announcements:


There is still time to order Butter Braids, frozen Cookie Dough, and Fannie May Candy! Please see a Youth and Government student or Ms. Faloon-Sullivan if you want to order.  A half-pound box of Fannie May is only $11, which is $3 less than the retail cost. 


For anyone needing community service hours, volunteers are being sought to assist with the Sherman Holiday Wonderland, which will be hosted at the Sherman Athletic Club on Sunday, November 20th.  Proceeds from the Sherman Holiday Wonderland are put toward the Sharon Miller Scholarship.  Volunteers will be needed on Saturday, November 19th setting up tables from 7:00-8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, November 20th, helping venders unload from 7:00-9:00 a.m. and again helping clean-up (sweep and put the tables and chairs away) after the event from 3:45-4:45 p.m.  If anyone is interested, please see Mr. Martens.

Boys & Girls Golf – Awards & Pizza Night is Tuesday, Nov. 1st at 6:30


Miles of Smiles dentistry program will once again provide services to our students on Tuesday,  November 1.  Miles of Smiles is a team of dental professionals delivering preventative and educational services to our students. This service is available to all students at no cost for the families.  Consent forms must be filled out by parent to obtain services. Many families are taking advantage of the program, and forms are available at the Junior High and High School.  


Regional Champs!!!  Congrats to the Lady Bullets on their win against PORTA/AC!!!  We travel to Beardstown on Tuesday, November 1st, for the first round of Sectionals. We play at 7pm against Quincy Notre Dame.  There is another opportunity for a fan bus which will be free for students.  Sign up in the office if you are interested.


Thank you to all the fans that came to cheer us on to victory!  Winners of the $50 gift cards are ticket numbers:  237255 & 237293.  Prizes are in the office.


Student Council is sponsoring a Shoe Drive next week.  Please bring any gently worn shoes to your first hour class.  The class who has the highest average of pairs of shoes per student will win breakfast in class.  Please see the fliers in your classes for more details.
