Lunch:  Hot ham & cheese sandwich or Sloppy Joe sandwich, corn souffle, diced pears, fruit sherbet cup, ½ pint of milk

Youth and Government Students: The Fannie May sale kick-off will be during the last 15 minutes of both lunch shifts.  First Lunch: Be in Room 101 NO LATER THAN 11:45. Second Lunch: Be in Room 101 NO LATER THAN 12:35.

7:00pm - Varsity Football vs Athens High School (H) – Senior Night – Senior Football, Cheerleaders, and Band Members will be recognized

 

Friday night is also “Paint the Field Pink” night in honor of breast cancer awareness month.  Wear pink to the game and ticket proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.  Sports boosters will be selling popcorn in pink megaphones.  Breast cancer survivors will be honored at half time.

General Announcements:

 

For anyone needing community service hours, Sherman Elementary School is hosting their Scholastic Book Fair in conjunction with SES Parent-Teacher Conferences, and they need volunteers to work two- or three-hour shifts on the following dates:  Tuesday, November 8th—4:00-7:00 p.m.; Wednesday, November 9th—4:00-6:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m.; and Thursday, November 10th—8:00-10:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m.-12:00 (noon), 12:00-2:00 p.m., and 2:00-4:00 p.m.  If anyone is interested, please see Mr. Martens.

Boys Basketball Parent-Athlete Meeting- October 25 at 6:30 in the Main Gym

 

Girls Soccer Players – If you could not attend the meeting Tuesday after school, fundraising forms can be picked up in the WHS office, also please sign up to play indoor soccer this winter.

 

SAVE your money for the S.A.V.E. Club Sub sale. Preorders will be taken next week during the lunch hour. Choose from turkey or ham with a bag of chips for the low, low price of $4.50.

 

The cross country team ran at Athens for the Sangamo Conference meet.  The boys were led by Mitch Owens with a 10th place finish.  Mitch was followed by Austen Horn, Noah Horton, Peter Laudeman and Taylor Moore.  The boys placed 6th at the meet.  The girls were led by Sandra Brzezicha with a 9th place finish.  Sandra was followed by Halston Fletcher, Katie Siders, Emily Chesser, Sara Nilsson, Abbi Penk and Melaney Brown.  The team runs at the Patriot Invite Saturday at Detweiler Park in Peoria.
