Lunch:  Loose tacos or Crispitos, tortilla chips, corn & pepper salsa, sliced peaches, cinnamon churro, ˝ pint of milk

 

PSAT test - Wednesday, October 12th from 8:00-11:15am

 

S.A.V.E .snowflurry participants must have activity and supplies turned into Mrs. Lorton by Wednesday to participate.

 

Any member of the cast, crew, or orchestra who would like to order a t-shirt for "Back to the 80's," please do so by the end of rehearsal on Wednesday night.

7:00pm - Varsity Football vs Athens High School (H) – Senior Night – Senior Football, Cheerleaders, and Band Members will be recognized

 

Friday night is also “Paint the Field Pink” night in honor of breast cancer survivors so all attendees should wear pink to the football game. Sports boosters are selling popcorn in pink megaphones.  Breast cancer survivors will be honored at half time.

General Announcements:

 

For anyone needing community service hours, Sherman Elementary School is hosting their Scholastic Book Fair in conjunction with SES Parent-Teacher Conferences, and they need volunteers to work two- or three-hour shifts on the following dates:  Tuesday, November 8th—4:00-7:00 p.m.; Wednesday, November 9th—4:00-6:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m.; and Thursday, November 10th—8:00-10:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m.-12:00 (noon), 12:00-2:00 p.m., and 2:00-4:00 p.m.  If anyone is interested, please see Mr. Martens.

Congratulations to Lexie Emerson!  Lexie shot a 79, earning her a 4th place finish and trip to this weekend's State tournament.  This trip to State marks four years in a row that Lexie has competed in the State tournament.  Congrats to Lexie and best of luck this weekend!

 

Boys Basketball Parent-Athlete Meeting- October 25 at 6:30 in the Main Gym

 

Girls Soccer Players – If you could not attend the meeting yesterday after school, fundraising forms can be picked up in the WHS office, also please sign up to play indoor soccer this winter.

 

Congratulations to Curtis Clark for advancing to the the State Golf Tournament in Bloomington this Friday and Saturday. Curtis shot an 80. The Bullets total team score for Sectional was 357, which placed the team in ninth place in the Monmouth Sectional.

 

SAVE your money for the S.A.V.E. Club Sub sale. Preorders will be taken next week during the lunch hour. Choose from turkey or ham with a bag of chips for the low, low price of $4.50.

 

Youth and Government Students: The Fannie May sale kick-off will be during the last 15 minutes of both lunch shifts on Thursday, Oct. 13.  First Lunch: Be in Room 101 NO LATER THAN 11:45. Second Lunch: Be in Room 101 NO LATER THAN 12:35.

Legislators: Each Bill Group please schedule a time to meet with Ms. Faloon-Sullivan to write your bill.  Press: Several of you have not turned in press applications or story ideas to Mr. Gudwien. The forms are on Edmodo and Ms. Faloon-Sullivan's website.

 

Congrats to the varsity volleyball team!  The Lady Bullets volleyball team improved to 6-1 in the Sangamo Conference and 22-4 overall for the season after their win against the Trojans of Auburn last night.  The JV lost in three sets.  The rest of our regular season games are at home.  We host SHS on Thursday night.  JV starts at 6pm with the Varsity immediately after.
