The PORTA/AC Booster Club is sponsoring a Tailgate/Pork Chop Dinner this Friday, Sept. 2nd prior to the PORTA/AC vs. Williamsville home football game. WDBR radio station plans to broadcast live from the Tailgate beginning at 5:30pm. The pork chop dinner includes a Turasky’s pork chop, chips, drink and dessert for $5.00. Dinner will be available beginning at 5:30.

WCUSD #15 will be holding two Bike Rodeos (bicycle safety course) in September and volunteers are needed.  Saturday, September 10th from 3 - 6 pm and Saturday, September 24th from 2 - 5 p.m.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Sandy Walden at 544-3234 or sandy.walden@wcusd15.org

Seniors

1.  Officer voting will take place Monday in English classes.

 

2.  Jostens will be here October 31st to discuss graduation gowns and supplies.  Orders will be taken November 4th during lunch.

3.  To make the yearbook complete, the Journalism class is asking for you to submit a senior formal picture, casual picture, baby picture, and a quote to any yearbook member or to Mr. Gudwien as soon as possible.

Free Seminar, open to the public: "Keeping Up With Rising College Costs," will be held Tuesday, October 4th from 6:30-7:30pm or Saturday, October 8th from 9:00-10:00am at the Wells Fargo Advisors office in Springfield. A financial advisor will be presenting on college financial planning opportunities and understanding 529 plans.

Engineering Explorers Post: This program offers students help to continue their pursuit of engineering to the college level & as practicing engineers. Students will get hands-on experience in the engineering field and an opportunity to spend time with engineers and technicians. "First Nighter" is scheduled for Thursday, September 15th from 6:00-7:30 at the IDOT Central Office. At First Nighter students will have the chance to ask questions & sign up for the Engineering Explorers Post Program. Please come to the guidance department for more information. Flyers will be posted in your science classes.

 

Art Club will meet Tuesday Sept 6, in the art room from 3:30 - 5:00.

 

Sophomores – Jostens will be here on September 12th to discuss class rings.  Orders will be taken on Friday, September 16 during lunch.

 

Student Council Meeting for next week has been changed to WEDNESDAY at 7:30 in Mrs. Walsh's room.
