WHS Meet the Teachers - August 30, 2011 - 5:30-7:00pm


Freshmen – Please pay class dues of $20 by October 1, 2011.  Dues can be given to Mr. Martens, Mr. Beard, Mrs. Root, or Mrs. Whitten.  Class dues are collected yearly and saved for future use to pay for Junior Prom and Senior Trip. 


Also, sign up to run for Freshman class office on Wednesday, August 24.  The sign up sheet is on the counter in the office.  Class offices consist of President, Vice President, and Secretary.  Any student interested in running must sign up no later than 3:30 PM on Friday, August 26, 2011.  Elections will be held on Tuesday, August 30 during English classes.  A 2.75 non-weighted GPA is a prerequisite for running for class office.


Show your school spirit at the football game Friday, August 26.  Amanda Tabit, a licensed cosmetologist, will be selling feathers for your hair.  Purple & gold (& other colors) are available.  Cost is $12 for one feather, $20 for 2 feathers.


Congratulations to the Bullets Soccer team on their 9-0 win over Mt. Pulaski last night!!


Any girls not currently in a fall sport, the cross country team is looking for more girls to join the team by the end of the week.  See Melaney Brown or Halston Fletcher if you are interested.


This fall the Drama Program at Williamsville High School will be performing “Back to the 80’s,” a musical from the era of the Rubrik’s Cube, Max Headroom, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the style of Back to the Future, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Karate Kid and The Wedding Singer.  Auditions for this year’s musical production will be held on Thursday, August 25, and Monday, August 29, in Mr. Martens’ room (Room 100).  Anyone interested in auditioning for the show needs to sign-up by 3:30 p.m. on Monday, August 30.  The production will take place on Saturday, October 29, at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 30, at 2:00 p.m.  Rehearsals will begin Tuesday, August 30, and will be held Monday through Friday after school and/or in the evenings and may also include some Saturdays.  Please see Mr. Martens if you have any questions.

In addition to the cast for “Back to the 80’s,” we are also looking for responsible people for the following assignments:  Student Director, Stage Manager, Student Choreographer and/or Dance Captian(s), Student Costumer(s), and Scenic Painter(s).  Anyone interested in any of these positions, please see Mr. Martens.  Anyone interested in playing the orchestra, please see Mr. Muskopf.  Anyone interested in helping with set construction and/or painting, please see Mr. Martens.


Congrats to the boys golf team for defeating Litchfield but losing to Hillsboro last night. Also a big congrats goes to Curtis Clark for being Medalist with a one under 34 score!  Reece Whitley scored a 39, Nathan Cox had a 43 and Marty Pesch had a 44.


CALLING ALL BAND PARENTS!!!  WCUSD #15 Band Boosters will hold their first meeting of the year on Tuesday, August 30th at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Band room.  This meeting will serve as a "Meet and Greet" with our new Band Director, Mr. Kyle Muskopf, new officers will be elected, band activities and fundraisers will be discussed, and the NEW Band T-shirts will be in and available for picked up.


VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!  WCUSD #15 will be holding two Bike Rodeos (bicycle safety course) in September and volunteers are needed.  The 1st Bike Rodeo will be held in Williamsville on Saturday, September 10th from 3 - 6 pm. at the old Williamsville Christian Church site.  The 2nd Bike Rodeo will be held at Sherman Elementary, on Saturday, September 24th from 2 - 5 p.m.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Sandy Walden as soon as possible at 544-3234 or sandy.walden@wcusd15.org  A letter of service hours will be provided upon request.
