Congratulations to Allison Rump, who was named to Second Team, All State, by the Illinois Scholastic Bowl Coaches' Association.

Congratulations to following track and field athletes for qualifying for the Illinois Prep Top Indoor Classic meet this Friday evening: Rachel Rhodes and Paul Priester in the high jump and Keith Williams in the shot put. The meet is considered to be the unofficial indoor state track meet. On Saturday, Keith took second in the shot put at the Charleston HS Indoor Invite. Over 40 schools competed in the meet. His heave of 58' 6" broke the old school record by 2 and 1/2 feet.

Congratulations to our Youth and Government students on a fantastic weekend! You represented WHS so well with your hard work, respectful behavior, and outstanding skills! Taylor Kovacevich, Courtney Leka, Sam Pensabene, and Paul Priester got their bill requiring Illinois high schools to provide ACT prep classes passed in both chambers and signed by the Youth Governor, and Allie Wilson was named Most Effective Lobbyist in her committee. Other students held a variety of leadership positions, including Emily Mordacq as Editor of the Observer, Dan Nerone as committee chair, Abby Withrow as Chaplin of the Senate, and Taylor Joerger as Sergeant-at-Arms of the House.
