FFA Week Bibs/suspenders Day


Last day to buy tickets at normal price for the Sweetheart Dance. The price will go up tomorrow to $10 for singles and $20 for couples. See Mr. Houser before you leave today if you still need a ticket. Also, do not forget to turn in the guest approval form if your date is not from WHS.


FFA Members there are still a few FFA members who have not signed up for a shift to work at the prime rib dinner. See Mr. Houser to get signed up now.

Volunteers Needed: Looking for a way to help others and have fun? United Cerebral Palsy is looking for volunteers to help with three different fun-filled summers: recreational camp, life without limits camp, and computer camp. UCP is also looking for volunteers to help with "Saddle Up" a therapeutic horseback riding program for children with disabilities. Anyone with an interest in the medical field, education, or human services should volunteer. No experience with horses needed, training is provided. The next session begins in late March. Please stop by the guidance office for more details and an application.

Illinois College will be hosting a college fair on Tuesday, March 8th from 6:30-8:00pm for all students and their parents. The program is free and will feature several colleges and universities. More information is available in guidance.

Summer 2011 Pre-College Program at Pratt Institute: Students have the opportunity to explore college level courses in programs such as architecture, art, creative writing, graphic design, interior design, photography, and many more all while living in New York City. Interested students should see Mrs. Strack or Mrs. Chladny for an informational flyer.

The University of Missouri would like to invite interested students to attend the Mizzou Engineering Summer Camp. Students must be presently enrolled as a high school sophomore or junior and be in the upper 25% of their class. Enrollment is limited so please apply early. The cost is $425. Want a career in sports medicine? Find out more Saturday, March 19th from 8:30-4pm at the DMH (Decatur Memorial Hospital) Sports Enhancement Center. This is a hands-on course with highly trained staff to provide information on the career of sports medicine. The course costs $20. Deadline to register is March 14. For students interested in a nursing career, Memorial Medical Center & MacMurray College have a great opportunity for you! July 18-21, 2011 they are sponsoring the T.E.N. (Teens Experiencing Nursing) Summer Camp which will take place at both locations. There is no charge for the camp, but space is limited and the deadline for applications is Friday, April 8th. See the Guidance Office for more details & an application.

Sigma Phi Epsilon Scholarship: Open to male students who have excelled in the areas of scholarship, leadership, athletics, and community service.
