Youth and Government Pre-Leg II 8:30 AM -2:30 PM


Sports Booster Clothing Sale - 9-1 at the Sherman Athletic Club. There will also be a basket raffle benefiting the 2011 After Prom.


General Announcements:


Study Club will be available Tuesday & Thursday 3:20-4:00 PM in the Library and Wednesday morning 7:30-8:10 in the Library. Resource support will be available on Tuesdays & Thursdays as well.


Juniors please take time to sign up in Mrs. Patterson's room to work the boy's basketball concessions. The money made will help fund Prom. Those individuals that work at least one game will have their name entered into a drawing for a free Prom ticket.


The Williamsville FFA Chapter is preparing drop off boxes for the annual Coat Drive this week through Sat. Dec. 11 in conjunction with the Food Drive. The Sherman Elementary is teaming up with the FFA Chapter to provide coats, new or in good condition, for those in need. Please bring coats and drop them in the boxes near the office or library.


Are you curious about the creative worlds of Fashion & Business? Stop by the guidance office to learn more about the 3 days of Fashion summer program with the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. In just 3 creative & inspiration-filled days you will learn more than you ever thought possible regarding the fashion and marketing industry.

Mr. Johns School of Cosmetology located in Decatur, Jacksonville, & Urbana has announced that they will be offering (2) $500 scholarships. Students with a strong interest in the cosmetology field should apply. Deadline to apply is December 31, 2010. Please see the guidance office for more details.

National Defense Transportation Association Scott/St. Louis Chapter: Preference given to students pursuing a career in Business, Transportation Logistics, and Physical Distribution or other related fields. Applications can be found at www.ndtascottstlouis.org or on the guidance webpage.

Mensa Education & Research Foundation Essay Contest Scholarship: Students are encouraged to apply for awards of $300 to $1,000. Visit www.mensafoundation.org/scholarships to download an application. Deadline to apply is January 15, 2011.


The After-Prom Committee will be selling tickets for a chance to win a $500 IPAD. Tickets are $10 each, and will be sold during home basketball games Dec. 7, Dec. 10 and Dec. 17. Come early to enter. Only 100 tickets will be sold.

Penny Drive starts on Monday! Sixth hour classes will compete for a pizza party and more important BRAGGING RIGHTS!! For a $1 donation students can sign up to be part of the Food Drive Assembly in English classes.
