Football Playoff Sweatshirts – We are re-opening the order for only the gray sweatshirts – today only – sign up in the office by the end of the day.  Payment of $25 is due tomorrow.  Checks can be made payable to Sports Boosters

IMEA Concert Festival at Western Illinois University -- Bus leaves at 6am from behind the JH.  Senior concert is at 4:30pm at Western Hall.  Admission is $3 for adults, and $2 for students.

Study Club will be available Tuesday & Thursday 3:20-4:00 PM in the Library and Wednesday morning 7:30-8:10 in the Library.  Resource support will be available on Tuesdays & Thursdays as well.

Care packages to our graduate soldiers overseas:  Show them you remember. Show them you have class in a friendly competition to remember our graduates who are now serving overseas.  Stop by the library and pick up the list of items that can be shipped in a care package to one of our graduates.

 

Parent-Teacher Conferences –

November 10 – 5:00-8:00 PM or November 11 – 8:00 – 12:00, Break, 1:00-4:00 PM

The high school reserves 10 minute appointments for all teachers on both days of the conferences.  Call the high school office (566-3361) with specific names of teachers you’d like to meet with and a timeframe that is convenient with your schedule.

 

Schedule Changes - Mrs. Chladny will be taking appointments for 2nd semester schedule changes December 13th-15th.  Any student who would like to discuss changes for 2nd semester will need to schedule an appointment before or after school or during a resource period. Schedule change requests made after the 15th will not be honored. Please remember that 2nd semester changes are very limited.

 

The cross country team finished their season at the Elmwood Sectional on Saturday.  Corey Conklin finished 65 in 17:27.  The girls were led by Amy Pesch with a 38th place in 20:25.  Amy was followed by Caitlin Laudeman, Jessica Miller, Halston Fletcher and Emily Mordacq.  Awards night will be November 9th, 6:30 PM at Sams Too.  Uniforms should be

turned in by Thursday November 4th.  Put in a plastic bag with your name on it and turn into the office.

 

The Lady Bullets volleyball team would like to thank everyone for their commitment and enthusiasm that was shown throughout the whole season.  We would not have been as successful without all of you.  The Varsity team lost a heartbreaker on Saturday night  against Auburn for the Regional Championship.  We wish the Seniors a bright future and thank them for their dedication to the program over the last 4 years. 

 

WHS Vocal Music Fundraiser: Members of the WHS Choirs will be selling Gourmet Delight cheesecakes again for this holiday season.  Orders & payment are due by Nov. 30.  Delivery will be Dec. 9.  Contact a choir student to place your order, or you may call Mrs. Bosworth at 566-3361.  Thank you for supporting our vocal music program!

 

Attention Juniors & Seniors and your parents: A financial aid night presentation will be held on November 10th beginning at 6:30pm in the WHS cafeteria. Members from the Illinois Students Assistance Commission Core team will be presenting and available to answer questions. The presentation will offer information on general financial aid, scholarships, and preparing to complete the FAFSA.

 

All sophomores will be taking the PLAN test on Wednesday, November 10th from 8am-11:30am in the WHS cafeteria. The PLAN test covers the same subjects as the ACT and gives students an estimated ACT score. The PLAN test will help students identify academic strengths as well as areas for improvement. Students will complete a career interest inventory that can help find the best career choices that match those interests.

 

Boys Golf - Congratulations to Reece Whitley for receiving the golf team’s Most Improved golfer award.  Also, a special congratulations to Jay Winkleman and Curtis Clark for receiving Co-Most Valuable Players award. The Bullets finished the season with an outstanding record of 25-6.  Please remember to turn in golf bags ASAP.
